The holidays can be a tough time for those who are gluten-free, because a lot of extra holiday treats show up that are not always available gluten-free. It seems like I keep gaining more and more friends who are gluten-free or have some other dietary restriction, and I love finding gluten-free recipes that I […]
Christmas time is here! Time for decorating the house, hanging the lights, baking yummy treats, taking pictures for holiday cards, shopping for the perfect gifts, and getting into the spirit of Christmas. I enjoy all that goes into making holidays special, but this year I have an infant and a toddler to take care of. […]
As the holiday season approaches, I think back on my childhood. Holidays were always a crazy time of year, and yet it was also a very enjoyable time spent together. As I ponder deeper, I think about the previous kids I have taught and their parents confiding in me about the crazy the season is […]
The holidays are upon us. Our Halloween sugar rushes are over and now, it’s time to please pass the Peppermint Mocha and crank up 104.7 FM. Wait, mommas. Slow your roll. If you are like me, I tend to gloss right over Thanksgiving. Instead, I count down the days until I can turn on my […]

The Facts A lot of you are probably excited for Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day. This year, it comes up on April 27th! In 1992, the Ms. Foundation for Women created this holiday to promote self-esteem and go-get-em attitudes for little girls everywhere. For years now, it’s been changed from Bring Your Daughters […]
Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. When I was younger my parents would hide our Easter baskets around the house and we would have to hunt for them. I can remember being so upset one year because I could not find my basket for the life of me. My parents had been […]
The Christmas season is in full swing and Santa Clause can be found in every mall with lines of children waiting to sit on his lap. I never noticed what a large part Santa played in the holiday season until my husband and I decided not to do Santa with our kids. He’s pretty much unavoidable; […]
Before you read this list, I feel the need to make sure you know that I’m not a Scrooge. I really do love this time of year. Everything feels a little more magical and a little more special. I love making memories and establishing traditions with my family. I love focusing just a little more […]
You know, it’s funny. There are so many seasons of life, and sometimes they happen concurrently. But the one thing they all have in common is growth. We are always growing, changing, learning. Sometimes that growth will happen at a sloth’s pace, and other times it can happen in an instant. Sometimes it develops and […]
