Southwest Secondary Learning Center is a state chartered public school for students in grades 9-12. The mission of SSLC is to prepare students for college and career. Our school employs a rigorous college preparatory program for high school students that is individualized, self-directed and flexible. Our students pair our online curriculum with one on one, face-to-face instruction from our exceptional teachers. This unique approach allows students the flexibility to receive direct instruction on campus and 24/7 access to their coursework. In addition, our state of the art S.T.E.A.M. Lab gives students the chance to gain experience in 3D modeling, engineering, photography, sound and video production and other advanced technologies. Corrales International School is a small K-12, Dual-Language (Spanish-English), International Baccalaureate School located in the northeast heights of Albuquerque. The Primary Years Program (K-6) is focused on a “world view” and Bilingual education. Kindergarten and First grade the instruction is Spanish immersion with a 90/10 Spanish/English split. In grades two through six the Spanish/English split is 50/50. The PYP also has PE, Art, and Music. In the Middle Years Program (MYP) our 7th through 10th grade students also have a world focus and both Spanish and Mandarin Chinese language classes. The MYP STEM program is presented through the PLTW (Project Lead The Way) curriculum and is a Biomedical Science focus. The MYP curriculum is accelerated and students obtain a majority of their core credits before 11th Grade. The 11th and 12th grades split time attending CIS finishing high school requirements and CCNM or UNM taking college coursework.

AIMS’ students consistently achieve the highest PARCC scores, math proficiency of 81.8% and 87% English proficiency. The Washington Post named AIMS 42nd nationally in most challenging high schools. The US News Report ranked AIMS #1 in New Mexico, #83 out of 2,350 national charter schools and #314 in national high school rankings.

With its STEM curriculum and its mission to prepare all students for their college education, most enroll concurrently at the University of New Mexico during their junior year and begin working on their college education while earning their high school diploma.

La Promesa Early Learning Center (LPELC) is a dual-language family-centric Pre-K-8th grade public school located in the Northwest Heights of Albuquerque.

Originally chartered in 2004, LPELC is one of the longest standing charter schools in the state of New Mexico. In 2018, our students outperformed students across the state of New Mexico, achieving an English Language Proficiency rate of 6.2% compared to the 3.2% proficiency rate of English learners across the state. In fall 2018, LPELC was named a top ten charter school for math growth. Between 2015 and 2018, LPELC increased its school letter grade by nearly 3 whole letters. 

In winter 2019, La Promesa received the prestigious Bilingual Recognition Award from the NM Public Education Department and NM State Legislature. LPELC offers free breakfast/lunch; transportation; uniform vouchers; vision, hearing and dental screenings; afterschool programming; mental health counseling; and many more community-based services.

• Meeting their academic needs through an emphasis on the four core content areas identified by the New Mexico Public Education Department;

• Meeting their emotional and social needs by integrating the remaining five content areas (the arts, modern and classical languages, health and physical education, technology) into the school program;

• Incorporating a variety of instructional methods including small/large group instruction, individualization, hands-on activities, field trips, project-based learning;

• Exceeding state standards as measured by individual student growth on the New Mexico criterion referenced test.
