5 Pregnancy Essentials Every Mom Needs to Make Life Easier

Searching for the best mom products during my first pregnancy was overwhelming. I knew I needed some sort of belly butter. But that was about it. All of a sudden I was bombarded with a million essential products. They ranged from vitamins to fancy support clothing.

Here are the things that have been most helpful to me over the course of two pregnancies. And I hope this list will be helpful to some of you pregnant mamas. These would all make great gifts, too. Hint, hint!

Tervis Cups

I have SO MANY of these! They have been a staple in my house. Tervis cups keep my water cold for several hours in my car. And yes, my drink stays cool even on a 103 degree day here in NM. They also keep beverages hot and come in a ton of designs. Add a reusable straw and you are good to go! Oh, and did I mention they are dishwasher safe?

Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter

I found this belly butter early on in my first pregnancy. And man was I glad I did! This stuff works so well! It absorbs relatively quickly for a butter. It also lasts at least 24 hours in my experience. My skin feels great after using it. Mama Bee really helps minimize stretch marks.

Soda Stream

Carbonated beverages helped me a lot with nausea during my first trimesters. I’m also a huge fan of plain carbonated water. My husband bought me a Soda Stream during my first pregnancy after realizing the insane amount of carbonated water I was purchasing each week. Now I can make my own at home in reusable bottles! Although you have to initially purchase a CO2 canister, you can exchange it for a new one at Target for a much lower price. Plain water not your thing? You can purchase flavoring to create several kinds of soda or to add a fruity twist to your beverage.

Body Pillow

This is a love-hate relationship for most couples. These things are AMAZING for mama, but they can take up a ton of space and annoy most spouses! I have this massive one that I can arrange in whatever way I need. It was one of the first things I pulled out of my closet when I found out I was pregnant. So helpful in the last trimester when sleeping comfortably becomes an issue.

A Good Tinted Moisturizer or CC Cream

Whether or not you get the “pregnancy glow,” there are always days where you are going to feel blah from lack of sleep. Plus, we all go through some skin changes during pregnancy. Having a good tinted moisturizer or a CC cream helps even out skin tone and protects from UV rays. Plus you will feel a little less blah after those sleepless nights! I don’t wear a lot of makeup and I like things that are quick and easy, so my CC cream is definitely a go to. I highly recommend using a shade slightly darker than your skin tone to give you a more sun-kissed look.  On the days I wear mine, people always tell me I am “glowing.” Ha! If they could only see the bags under my eyes!
