Albuquerque Moms Blog: Introducing Margo Tapia

Albuquerque

Albuquerque has always had my heart. As a former South Valley Girl, I understand the phrase, you can take the girl out of the valley, but you cannot take the valley out of the girl. Whether it be the sound of roosters crowing at the crack of dawn, peacocks screaming, goats bleating or turkeys gobbling, I take some sort of comfort in the noises of the place where I grew up. In 2008, I moved to Denver with my then boyfriend, to explore career opportunities. We added two children to the mix before we moved to tropical Houston. This is where we had our third and final baby.

In August 2017, my dad and I were chatting on the phone. He told me that the nights were starting to get cool in Albuquerque. I responded, ” I miss the cooler nights.” Abran (my husband) said that he, too, missed the cooler nights. He quickly suggested that we try to move back. Much to my surprise, the planning started, and a year later, the ball was rolling. Last August, we moved the Tapia 5 to the Land of Enchantment. These days, you can find us hiking in the Sandia Mountains, the Jemez Mountains,  running on the Bosque, or exploring Old Town. We truly missed this place while living far away. Our hearts are full now that we have returned.

MOMS

Momin’ is hard, isn’t it? While I have an army of 3 beautiful children, I have an army of 3 very different personalities. My oldest child, Scarlett is introverted and laid back. She is happy with a book, a quiet place, and a computer. This little piece of heaven makes my life easier by helping prep lunches and backpacks in the morning. She almost always behaves, unless her brother is in the same room. Ha!

Ezra is the very loud, extroverted performer in the family. He is always singing and dancing, running and climbing, making mama wonder what in the world she signed up for. He is my second, and third cup of coffee. But he is a sweet, funny and sensitive soul. He cares deeply for animals and people, alike.

Juliet is the spunky little spitfire. She has everyone wrapped around her finger. This is our last baby, so, naturally, she is taking her time with milestones. She is still breastfeeding, hardly walking, and just cruising through life. I think we all had something to do with encouraging the growing up phase to slow down.

BLOG

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to become a writer. Writing comes easily to me. Words on paper make expressing my feelings much easier, in my opinion. This may be why people think I’m lively online and monotone in real life. Blogging is a wonderful way to connect other people in my community to the fun things there are to do. People often say that there is nothing going on in Albuquerque, and I’m here to help debunk that myth. Feel free to follow me on social media.
