Albuquerque has been my home all my life. This charming city is full of kind and caring people. I loved growing up here and I love raising my family here. We also recently brought things “full circle” by buying a house in the Northeast Heights neighborhood where I grew up . . . right next door to my parents!
One of the best features of Albuquerque is the mild winter season. Most activities can be done year round because the weather is gorgeous 95% of the time! My other favorite things about Albuquerque include the food (red chile!), the zoo, and the museums.
Since my husband serves in law enforcement, I feel a special connection with this city. He loves being able to protect and help people in our community. We want this city to thrive. Most of all, we want Albuquerque to be a great place for families.
I am a stay-at-home mom to three precious little boys. They light up the room instantly wherever we go. I always like to tell them, “I’m raising gentlemen.” But, my oldest may put it more accurately when he says, “We’re the circus rolling through!”
My older two boys are 16 months apart. I love having them so close in age. Between my second and third sons we suffered multiple miscarriages. It was a very difficult season but many blessings came with the losses. I now have many opportunities to minister to hurting moms and I was given a new outlook on life. My babies in heaven taught me to appreciate every minute with my children. I am so thankful to be their mom!
These boys challenge, entertain, and amaze me everyday. I want to be the best mom to them and give them a great foundation for life. We have so much fun together, and being a mom is the most rewarding adventure.
Author Jill Churchill put it well: “There’s no way to be a perfect mother but a million ways to be a good one.”
Moms have unique stories and perspectives. Blogging is a way to connect moms in our community and the world. We all need a “mom tribe,” so I am very excited to be a part of Albuquerque Moms Blog. Let’s share the journey of motherhood together in our beautiful city!
