It’s just about that time of year . . . when the weather is perfect for fairs and festivals. Fall in New Mexico means outdoor family fun, and there’s certainly no shortage of it. Check out the list of fairs and festivals in and around Albuquerque happening this fall.

The Burning of Will Shuster’s Zozobra

The Burning of Zozobra is a unique cultural event staged annually by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe, NM, on the Friday before Labor Day as an exciting and fiery finale to the last days of summer. Learn more about this event here.


2023 Harvest Wine Festival

September 2-4

New Mexico Prickly Pear Festival

The 5th annual New Mexico Prickly Pear Festival live & in person. This festival is for eaters and cooks as well as growers, ranchers, and gardeners.


New Mexico State Fair

Corrales Harvest Festival

September 30 & October 1

Men, women, children, pets and more! Join us for a weekend of fun, shopping, playing, riding our famous “rapid transit” aka the hay wagons around the village and have a wonderful time.


Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festivals

Oct 6-8 | Oct 12-15 | Nov 24-26

Albuquerque Grecian Festival

October 6-8

Albuquerque Folk Festival

The Albuquerque Folk Festival provides an opportunity for the public to experience and participate in folk music, song, dance, and storytelling through educational workshops, demonstrations and performances. Folk activities enhance community expression and the continuance of cultural traditions.


Botanic Gardens Harvest Festival

October 7 & 8

The ABQ BioPark is excited to host the Harvest Festival for two fun-filled days at the Botanic Garden in October. Explore a variety of landscapes throughout the Garden, listen to live music, enjoy festival treats and local brews, and celebrate the beauty of the season.


El Rancho de las Golondrinas Harvest Festival

October 7 & 8

Stomping grapes, pressing apple cider, and picking pumpkins are just a few of the many activities this fall festival has at the gorgeous Ranch of the Swallows.


Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

October 7-15

Albuquerque is known for a lot of things that are unique to us. The International Balloon Fiesta is arguably the most popular of those things. There’s not much more awe-inspiring than hundreds of hot air balloons launching in the blue New Mexican sky. This is one festival you don’t want to miss. Festival of the Cranes

December 6-9

The return of the sandhill cranes to their winter home is a unique event and one that attracts photographers and wildlife lovers from all over. Come see the stunning birds in vast numbers who travel the world to be in New Mexico’s backyard.
