I don’t often order dessert, especially at lunch, but when you eat at a restaurant that is connected to their bakery, you get dessert.
Last week, I tried a restaurant called Bucket Headz for the first time. This little Southern home cooking restaurant is a hidden gem, owned and operated by veterans. It’s an Albuquerque Magazine Best of the City Award winner for best Soul Food, and boy did they deserve it!
While sitting in the booth, awaiting my Fried Catfish Po’Boy, my 3 year old daughter kept exclaiming, “Cake!”. We look over, and there is a bakery attached to the restaurant, Trinity’s Custom Dessert Studio, and on display are the most unique and beautiful wedding cakes and party cakes. I walked her over to catch a better view of the cakes, and ended up meeting the owner, Malaika Marks. She was sweet, funny, and surprised my little dessert monster with an Emoji cookie! (See below) We said our thank yous and went back to our booth. Later, I perused the bakery a bit further and learned they have a variety of fun services and products.
