A Few of Our Favorite Christmas Activities

0

When I realized my first child was due in December, I felt the pressure of making the entire season perfect. Of course, she doesn’t remember a thing from her first Christmas, but I remember every time I thought I messed things up. I know it’s silly, but us mommas are pretty good at telling ourselves how bad we’re doing, right? She’s about to turn four, so I don’t quite qualify as an expert, but I do have a few Christmases and fun Christmas activities under my belt to share. Christmas activities Albuquerque | Moms Blog

Breakfast with Santa

Okay, I’d be silly not to mention this event that Albuquerque Moms Blog is hosting. Imagine your darling kiddos meeting Santa, having their photo taken with him against a lovely backdrop, eating breakfast together as a family that someone else will clean up, and enjoying fun stories and crafts. It’s going to be a special family experience you don’t want to miss.

Festival of Trees

My husband and I went to this fun event several times before children, but it’s never worked out for us to take our girls. I think this will be our year, with a four-year-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old. We’ll wear the toddler and both girls will love seeing all the lights and festive decor. Admission is free and proceeds from the event help children with disabilities right here in New Mexico.

River of Lights

This is something we’ve gone to each year, and each year, my kids have loved it! We’ve gone with and without grandparents and I recommend going with, especially if you’ve got more than one little one. The entire botanical garden is lit up with lovely scenes, and visitors can purchase hot cocoa and treats. I suggest bundling everyone up for this as it can get quite cold!

Moonlight Makes Adobe Gingerbread House Class

I have not attended this, but it looks like a fun, southwestern twist on a classic holiday tradition- making adobe gingerbread houses, complete with chile ristras! I’m thinking about taking my big girl over her birthday weekend.

What do you have planned with your families this holiday season?
