Albuquerque Moms Blog :: Introducing Jessica Cantrall

1

Hi, Albuquerque mamas! I’m Jessica Cantrall, and I couldn’t be more excited to join the Albuquerque Moms Blog community as your Community Engagement Coordinator. I would love to help you and your family find fun and amazing things to do in our great city!

Albuquerque

I am a native New Mexican, born and raised in Albuquerque. The Heights were my playground growing up (and still are to this day.) The sense of community we have here, whether it’s a wave passing others by on our walks, or my neighbor Joe bringing us vegetables he grew in his garden, is something I love.

After graduating from Eldorado High School, I continued my New Mexico education at UNM. I immersed myself in the college experience, living on campus, cheering the Lobos on in a win against the Aggies, and studying by the Duck Pond. College graduation came and I had already decided to put my love of New Mexico, cheerleading, and education back into the youth of our city. I have coached cheerleading at schools and all-star gyms across town for the past 8 years. Now I am currently coaching at MHS (Go Monarchs!)

Manzano brought me more than just the experience of coaching amazing kiddos; it allowed me to meet the love of my life. My, also born and raised in Albuquerquean fiancé, Phillip. He’s a football coach and I’m a cheerleading coach, so it just seems like we were always meant to be!

From teaching, coaching, and waiting tables to working in advertising for this city, I’ve done it all. I have lived all over Albuquerque and love how each part of town offers something different.

My favorite parts of Albuquerque are our chile (duh), our sunsets, our mountains, and our weather. I love being able to call this city home and hope to show you all the best parts of it!

Moms

As long as I can remember, I always dreamed of being a mama. When people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I had to hold back blurting out, “A mom!” Thankfully my dreams became a reality when my son Myles Thomas graced us with his presence.

Motherhood definitely makes warriors out of us all, doesn’t it? My sweet baby boy had colic for the first four months of his life. But I came out of this stronger, more patient, and even more in love with all the little moments I got to experience. His smile, his funny personality, and those belly laughs . . . GAH those belly laughs are the best.

I am very lucky to be a stay-at-home mom with this little dude and watch him grow every single day. While I am so enjoying Myles now, we cannot wait to give him as many siblings as we are blessed with! (Yup, we’re crazy)

Blog

I’ve always had a love for writing, and it’s so exciting to start writing here for the Albuquerque Moms Blog.

Mom’s blogs have been my saving grace in all the trials and tribulations that come with motherhood. I am just happy to be a part of something that has personally helped me and our city with being a mama!

Can’t wait to get to know you all!
