Joining the Two Under Two Club :: You Can Do It!

1

I am officially a member of the two under two club! My son is two months old, and my daughter is almost 18 months. Juggling the needs of a baby and a toddler is hard work, but I’m doing it!

two under two | Albuquerque Moms ClubI recently overheard a mom at the library (story time is a lifesaver, folks) talking about having her second child. She would soon join the two under two club. Her concerns were familiar to me.

“How will I be able to love another child like my first?”

“Will my toddler be good with the new baby?”

“When will I sleep?”

“What will life look like with two under two?”

I feel ya, sister.

After hearing her chat with another mom friend, I chimed in.

“You can do it!,” I smiled.

My babies are 15 month apart. I got to the library on time for stories and songs. My toddler played with the puppets ,and I read her some books, all while keeping watch over sleeping baby in the car seat. I’m living the two under two life. It’s hard and tiring, but extremely rewarding. Like so many “two under two moms” encouraged me throughout my pregnancy, I had a chance to be an encouraging voice to another mom. Because when I’m in the thick of it, I think about every single mom who told me I can do it.

My heart grew with love when I held my baby boy. There’s so much love; it’s amazing.

Watching my toddler hug, kiss, and love on her little brother is the sweetest.

After a few weeks, I adjusted to a new schedule. I rest when I can, and drink iced coffee in the afternoon.

The two under two life is tiring, amazing, crazy, and wonderful all at the same time. When I push my double stroller around Target, I feel like Supermom. I’m so glad I’m a member of the two under two club. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Joining the two under two club? Just remember, you can do it!

Already part of the club? Here’s a big high five! Now go drink some iced coffee!

  1. I just met a couple of moms who had two under two and now their babies are all grown and out of the house. They were so encouraging! Once the oldest gets out of diapers and the youngest starts sleeping … it’s MAGICAL!! Haha!
