Albuquerque Moms Blog :: Introducing Jalyssa Richardson

0

Hello loves! My name is Jalyssa (juh-lee-suh) & I am an Albuquerque transplant. My husband serves in the U.S. Air Force & we have been stationed here for 4 years. I grew up in Southern California, lived in Germany, & currently reside in this beautiful desert.

Albuquerque

It took a little while for me to feel at home here, but gosh it is such a beautiful place. I have fallen in love with the desert mountains, the weather, the coffee shops, the theatre shows, & the artsy culture. There is something peaceful about the sherbet orange desert sunsets that brighten up our evening skies. I love all the little old houses & murals in downtown. There is just so much to see here.

Moms

I have been married to my best friend from high school for 5 years now. I gave birth to our three amazing sons here in Albuquerque, and that is where a lot of my attachment to this city comes from. Noah is 3.5 & he is so sweet & gentle yet wild & lively. Uriah James is 1.5 & is my emotional, cuddly, mischievous little guy who you can’t help but swoon over. Ezrah is my 4-month-old bundle of  joy who has brought such a sense of peace to our growing family. I chose to stay home after giving birth to Noah & being with them full time is my 1st passion. I am the type of mama who loves to do things only if I can do them without leaving my kids, so writing is my favorite outlet. There are many things I do, but all with my children at my feet. Motherhood has been so sanctifying & I am learning each & every day, grace upon grace.

Blog

I have been blogging since 2013 but went fully into wife/mommy/style blogging about 2 years ago. I spend most of my time on my Instagram account (@jalyssarichardson) & writing on my personal blog & have loved everything about having an online community. Before becoming a mom I worked in personal styling & boutique management so learning how to incorporate my love for that in my life as a mama has been fun. Marriage is one of my favorite things to talk about because through my marriage God gave me motherhood. I have found my truest gift in encouraging mamas. Motherhood didn’t feel “natural” for me & so I want to share my struggles in hope to encourage other young mamas. You will find that most of my blogs, & especially my Instagram posts, are filled with true & raw words about my motherhood journey, with little snippets of marriage & style. I hope to bring that sense of raw truth to Albuquerque Mom’s Blog as a contributing writer.
