I’m all about the simple luxuries in life-the things that turn an ordinary moment into something to savor. Creating a cozy atmosphere in my home is my favorite way to enjoy the Albuquerque fall season.

Fill your home with the warmth of Albuquerque fall by adding these simple luxuries.

Go buy this candle…right now! The Cozy Nights Signature Soy Candle from Target is my favorite candle. This candle smells heavenly and is the epitome of cozy.  It has a warm, inviting fragrance without being overpowering.  I burn it daily and enjoy the fresh, fall aroma that fills my home. Yep, the perfect candle.

Nothing says fall like pine cones. I like to display them all around my home. I also love a good tree branch! The natural, neutral feel of these earthy elements is a simple way to add a touch of Albuquerque fall to your dining room table, mantle or fall vignette. No need to spend money, either! Get the kids involved on a treasure hunt for sticks and branches. I found these cool branches at the park. Yes, my husband laughed at me for carrying around an armful of sticks on our walk home.

Add a Throw Blanket to Your Living Room

As the weather gets cooler and the days get shorter, our family spends more time snuggled up on the couch watching Netflix shows and those adorable Hallmark movies. An easy way to update your home décor for the fall is by adding a throw blanket. A cozy throw will add texture and a pop of color to your living room and keep you warm on chilly Albuquerque fall nights. I picked out my fall throw blanket from, you guessed it, Target!  T.J. Maxx and Marshalls also have a good selection of seasonal throws.

Bake Homemade Pumpkin Bread

Hello, Albuquerque Fall! :: Five Easy Ways to Make Your Home Feel Cozy

Nothing says fall like the spicy scent of homemade pumpkin bread. Find a simple pumpkin bread recipe and personalize it by mixing in your favorite add ins. My favorite pumpkin bread pairs chocolate chips and chopped pecans. Other possible add ins are: raisins, walnuts, crystallized ginger, and white chocolate chips. Check out my pumpkin bread Pinterest board for recipe ideas. Banana bread is another great fall treat. For a gluten free option, I use this recipe found on the back of Pamela’s Gluten Free Baking and Pancake Mix. It always satisfies my sweet tooth!

Add Fall Curb Appeal

For some easy curb appeal, just add pumpkins and mums! Every October I look forward to pretty mums by my front door. They come in all the lovely autumn colors-yellow, red, purple and orange. Mix and match a few different colors or keep it simple with your favorite. Add a few pumpkins (I chose three for each member of our  family), and you’re done! You can arrange the plants and  pumpkins on a bench or display on a bale of hay for extra flair!
