I don’t know that I’d call us foodies, but my husband and I definitely like good food. We’re also the parents of two lively little girls that we love to spend time with. We often eat a meal or two out on the weekend, and many of our favorite places to get great food are local restaurants. Eating out with young children is not always easy, but we’ve found a few family friendly restaurants that work pretty well for us.
Flying Star
several locations throughout Albuquerque
We can’t help ourselves when it comes to one of Albuquerque’s favorites. Whether it’s for coffee and dessert or family breakfast, there’s something here for everyone, and often with a southwestern twist!
A few of our family’s favorites:
Blueberry pancakes, bread pudding, the Graburrito, and the scrumptious Mexican latte.
Relish
8019 Menaul BLVD NE STE E&F
We’ve enjoyed eating at Relish for years. The atmosphere is laid back, service is good, and the sandwiches are so fresh and flavorful!
A few of our family’s favorites:
The roast beef sandwich (hello, housemade mozzarella!), the cubano, and their kid’s plate is like a charcuterie board made for kids!
Grassburger
11225 Montgomery Blvd
The first time our family tried Grassburger was a few weeks after our youngest was born. It was so fun to stumble upon this restaurant that not only served really good, quality food, but they have a fenced-in little play area for children and of course, my then two year old quickly lost interest in her food. My husband and I didn’t really mind, though–we sat right next to the play area and finished out burgers in record setting time! We all left satisfied and in good moods–amazing!
A few of our family’s favorites:
The sweet potato fries, a fried egg on top of my burger, and the above mentioned play place, complete with a chalk board wall just perfect for my preschooler.
Green Jeans Farmery
3600 Cutler Ave NE
We love Green Jeans Farmery- it’s a one-stop destination with so many choices! It’s safe to say that most anyone would leave satisfied with these delectable local options:
Nitro Fog Creamery
Do you have any family friendly restaurants we should try out?
Great list! I’d add El Cotorro and Tia B’s La Waffleria, both have kitchenette play places for the littles and a laid back atmosphere <3!
And Tomato Cafe! The best for young kids!
